Ratan Tata, born on December 28, 1937, in Mumbai, India, is today a name looked upon with a sense of business acumen and philanthropy. Born to the influential family of J.R.D. About his Family
He was born into a rich family. His father Naval Tata was an industrialist, whereas his mother Sonoo Tata was a social worker. The people around him molded his vision for the coming years. Ratan did his schooling from the prestigious Cathedral and John Connon School, Mumbai after which he went to pursue his architectural course from the University of California, Berkeley.
Early Career
Ratan Tata joined the group in 1962, starting on the shop floor of Tata Steel immediately being given hands-on experience that might be useful if he ever led the group. In 1991 he became chairman of the Tata Group and subsequently led an aggressive expansion both in India and internationally.
